The Send guide

Set up Dbrij Send step by step: what you need, what to press, and how you know each step worked.

Set up Send, step by step

By the end your app sends receipts and alerts through the API, and your team can broadcast to an audience safely.

Before you start, have these ready

  • A verified domain: one you own, or one you buy on Dbrij.
  • For email your app sends: a developer, or somebody comfortable pasting a key into your app. Broadcasts need no code at all.
  1. Verify a domain

DKIM, SPF and MX are issued for you. Open Domains and press Add a domain; a domain bought on Dbrij is listed under Your Dbrij domains, ready to use.
    Open domains
You will know it worked when the domain shows as verified on the Domains page.
  2. Create a key

Bound to one sender address. Open API, press Create key, and pick the address it sends as, such as alerts@yourcompany.com. Copy the key straight away; it is shown only once.
    Open API keys
  3. Send your first email

POST /v1/emails from your code, with the key. The Docs page has an example ready to copy.
    Open Docs
You will know it worked when the message appears under Emails with its timeline: sent, delivered, opened.
  4. Build an audience

Import a CSV or add through the API. Unsubscribes are handled for you.
    Open audiences
  5. Send a broadcast

Pick a template, an audience and a time. Open Broadcasts, press New broadcast, write the message and send.
    Open Broadcasts

Add the records

Publishing the DNS records for a domain bought somewhere else.

  1. Add the records

Send gives you a few records to add where your domain is managed, just like Mail. Never used a DNS screen? The Mail guide walks through one slowly. Verification finishes on its own.
    The DNS step, slowly
You will know it worked when the domain shows as verified on the Domains page.

How each part works

What Send is

Send delivers email from your domains through one API, with a timeline for every message. Broadcasts and automations run against audiences, with unsubscribes and suppressions checked on every send.

It covers the email your product sends on its own, such as sign in codes, receipts, alerts and updates, and broadcasts stop themselves if bounces or complaints spike. Send has its own plans and its own Billing page in the Send menu.

Good to know

  • A leaked key is one address, never a whole domain.
  • On a paid plan, extra emails bill per thousand at renewal. Free stops at its limit.
  • Suppressions are checked on every send, API included.
  • Webhooks tell your app what happened to each message, the same story the Emails page shows.
